What We Treat
Common broadleaf weeds (lawns & beds)
Dandelion, clover, plantain, oxalis, mallow, spurge, purslane, henbit, chickweed, black medic
Specialty & grassy nuisances
- Crabgrass / foxtail / goosegrass / barnyardgrass (annual grassy weeds)
- Nutsedge & kyllinga (yellow/purple nutsedge, green kyllinga)
- Quackgrass & tall fescue clumps (perennial grassy patches)
- Annual bluegrass (Poa annua) in cool seasons (site-dependent)
We’ll confirm each weed on-site and choose the right approach for that species and your lawn type.
How We Control Weeds (Lawn)
- Inspection & ID – Walk the property, identify species, note density, heat/wind, irrigation coverage, and turf type (bluegrass/rye/fescue mix is common in the Treasure Valley).
- Calibrated application – Hose-end or backpack sprayers for spot/blanket treatments; spreaders for pre-emergents in spring. We edge-guard and protect ornamentals.
- Broadleaf control – Fast knockdown on visible broadleaf weeds; blanket or sectional treatment depending on infestation.
- Pre-emergent barrier (seasonal) – Spring barrier to block crabgrass/foxtail germination; timing is everything, and we align with local soil temps.
- Specialty follow-ups – Nutsedge and some grassy perennials require sequential apps at label intervals; we schedule those automatically when needed.
- Care notes – Aftercare instructions (watering, mowing waits) and what to expect over 7–21 days.

Landscape Beds, Rock Areas & Hardscapes
- Pre-emergent bed program to dramatically reduce new sprouting in bark or rock.
- Selective post-emergent for broadleaf weeds around shrubs/trees (no contact with desirable foliage).
- Targeted crack/crevice treatments for weeds in driveways, curbs, pavers, and fence lines.
Mulch depth recommendations and fabric checks to keep beds cleaner between visits.
We do not treat edible vegetable beds with standard bed products. Ask for options that are appropriate for food gardens.
Season-by-Season Strategy (Treasure Valley)
- Early Spring (Mar–Apr): Pre-emergent barrier for annual grassy weeds; first broadleaf cleanup as winter annuals pop.
- Late Spring (May): Broadleaf touch-ups; start of nutsedge watch as temps rise.
- Early–Mid Summer (Jun–Jul): Sequential apps for nutsedge/kyllinga; spot treat crabgrass breakthroughs and spurge in hot areas.
- Late Summer (Aug): Continued spot control; focus on heat-stressed zones and irrigation fixes that drive weed pressure.
- Fall (Sep–Oct): Excellent window for perennial broadleaf control (deep translocation); optional fall pre-emergent in beds to reduce winter/spring flush.
- Late Fall/Winter: Bed maintenance and crack/crevice control as weather allows.
Specialty Weed Playbook
Crabgrass & annual grassy weeds
- Prevent with spring pre-emergent; treat escapes with targeted post-emergents at proper turf-safe timing. Some severe cases need multiple visits.
Nutsedge & kyllinga
- Grows faster than grass and loves wet spots. Requires sedge-specific products and 2–3 visits at label spacing. We also address irrigation leaks/overwatering that fuel regrowth.
Quackgrass, tall fescue clumps & other perennials
- True selective options are limited. We use suppression strategies, careful spot work, and renovation/overseeding plans for best cosmetic results.
Bindweed (field morning glory)
- Deep roots require persistence. We pair systemic spot work with cultural steps (mowing height, turf density) and repeat treatments through the season.

FAQs (SEO-Ready)
How long until weeds die?
Broadleaf weeds usually show curl/yellowing within a few days and fade out in 1–2 weeks. Nutsedge and grassy perennials take multiple visits.
Will this hurt my grass or shrubs?
Treatments are selective for target weeds when used as directed. We shield ornamentals and avoid vegetable beds.
Do I still need pre-emergent if you can spray weeds later?
Yes—pre-emergent blocks many weeds from ever germinating, saving you time and repeat spot work through summer.
Why does nutsedge keep coming back?
It spreads by tubers and thrives in wet soil. We pair sequential treatments with irrigation/grade fixes to reduce the source conditions.
Can you guarantee a weed-free lawn?
Weed pressure is continuous, but with proper timing, cultural practices, and follow-ups, we keep lawns and beds clean and manageable all season.
Ready to clean up your lawn and beds?
Tell us what you’re seeing (a photo helps). We’ll ID the weeds, map out the right treatment plan, and get your property back to clean, healthy turf and tidy landscape edges.
