Season-by-Season Strategy (Treasure Valley)

• Early Spring (Mar–Apr): Pre-emergent barrier for annual grassy weeds; first broadleaf cleanup as winter annuals pop.
• Late Spring (May): Broadleaf touch-ups; start of nutsedge watch as temps rise.
• Early–Mid Summer (Jun–Jul): Sequential apps for nutsedge/kyllinga; spot treat crabgrass breakthroughs and spurge in hot areas.
• Late Summer (Aug): Continued spot control; focus on heat-stressed zones and irrigation fixes that drive weed pressure.
• Fall (Sep–Oct): Excellent window for perennial broadleaf control (deep translocation); optional fall pre-emergent in beds to reduce winter/spring flush.
• Late Fall/Winter: Bed maintenance and crack/crevice control as weather allows.

Specialty Weed Playbook

Crabgrass & annual grassy weeds

• Prevent with spring pre-emergent; treat escapes with targeted post-emergents at proper turf-safe timing. Some severe cases need multiple visits.

Nutsedge & kyllinga

• Grows faster than grass and loves wet spots. Requires sedge-specific products and 2–3 visits at label spacing. We also address irrigation leaks/overwatering that fuel regrowth.

Quackgrass, tall fescue clumps & other perennials

• True selective options are limited. We use suppression strategies, careful spot work, and renovation/overseeding plans for best cosmetic results.

Bindweed (field morning glory)

• Deep roots require persistence. We pair systemic spot work with cultural steps (mowing height, turf density) and repeat treatments through the season.
