Eliminate Webs, Reduce Spider Activity, and Keep Them From Coming Back
Spiders follow insects. When flying and crawling pests gather around homes, spiders build webs and settle into eaves, garages, crawl spaces, and quiet interior corners. Effective spider control requires more than knocking down webs. It requires treating the places spiders hide, hunt, and lay eggs.
Pestcom Pest Management provides professional spider control services throughout southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon, designed to remove existing spiders and maintain a protective barrier that prevents new infestations.
Why Spiders Appear
Spiders are attracted to:
- Exterior lighting that draws insects
- Eaves, soffits, and porch ceilings
- Garages, crawl spaces, and storage areas
- Vegetation touching siding and foundation gaps
When insect populations rise, spiders follow. Seasonal weather changes also push them indoors as they search for stable shelter.

Spiders In Our Area
Spiders are one of the most common pests in the Treasure Valley and are commonly found in residential and commercial properties. These pests are attracted to dark, secluded areas in homes like attics, basements, crawl spaces, and closets.
There are many different types of spiders in the area, but the most common include:
- Black widow spiders: The black widows are one of the most venomous spiders in America. They weave strong, loose webs and use their combed feet to easily tear prey apart. They usually make their web in dark areas and are often found in garages, sheds, woodpiles, and basements.
- Hobo spiders: Hobo spiders are common in the state of Idaho. They’re usually ¼-inch and ½-in-sized arachnids that lurk around on ground level. They make funnel-shaped webs to capture prey such as other insects or even small bugs.
If you think you may have a spider problem in your home or business, call us today for a free inspection. We will find the source of your infestation and create a customized treatment plan to get rid of these pests for good!

Before & After Your Service
Before we arrive
- Unlock gates
- Move patio items 2–3 feet from walls
- Turn off misters or sprinklers
- Note high-traffic or bite-concern areas
After treatment
- Avoid washing treated areas for 24 hours
- Leave removed webs down
- Expect fewer new webs within 7–10 days
- Switch exterior bulbs to warmer tones to reduce insect attraction
DIY vs Professional Spider Control
Removing visible webs helps temporarily, but without treating harborage areas and the insects spiders feed on, new spiders return quickly. Professional spider control treats the entire environment, not just what you see.
Prevention Checklist
- Use warmer outdoor bulbs to reduce insect attraction
- Trim shrubs and trees away from siding and rooflines
- Seal door sweeps, screens, and utility gaps
- Store items in sealed bins off the floor
- Keep basements and crawl spaces dry and ventilated
