Remove Squirrels and Protect Your Structure
Squirrels may seem harmless outdoors, but once they enter a home or building they can cause serious damage. Attics, soffits, wall voids, and rooflines provide warmth, shelter, and nesting space. Left untreated, squirrels chew wiring, wood, and insulation, creating costly repairs and fire hazards.
Pestcom Pest Management provides professional squirrel trapping and exclusion services throughout southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon, designed to remove active animals and prevent future entry.

Why Squirrels Enter Buildings
Squirrels are driven by:
- Shelter from weather
- Safe nesting locations
- Access to warmth during cold or stormy periods
Common entry points include:
- Soffits and fascia gaps
- Roofline and shingle edges
- Vents and attic openings
- Chimneys and construction seams
Once inside, squirrels will continue returning unless entry points are professionally sealed.
Signs of a Squirrel Problem
- Scratching or running sounds in attics or walls
- Gnaw marks on wood, wires, or vents
- Nesting material in soffits or insulation
- Droppings near rooflines or entry points
- Visible squirrels entering or exiting the structure
Our Squirrel Removal Process
1) Inspection
We identify:
- Active entry points
- Nesting and travel zones
- Structural vulnerabilities
- Secondary damage from chewing or nesting
2) Humane Trapping & Eviction
- One-way doors and live-capture devices when appropriate
- Removal of squirrels without poisons
- Methods designed to avoid non-target wildlife
3) Structural Exclusion
After removal, we permanently secure the structure:
- Seal and reinforce all entry points
- Screen vents and openings
- Secure soffits, roofline gaps, and fascia breaks
- Install gnaw-resistant materials where needed
This step is what prevents the problem from coming back.
4) Prevention & Maintenance Guidance
- Tree trimming and roofline clearance recommendations
- Exterior and attic upkeep guidance
- Seasonal monitoring for renewed risk
Why Professional Squirrel Control Matters
Do-it-yourself trapping or removal without sealing entry points almost always fails. Squirrels are territorial and persistent. When one is removed, another will move in unless access is blocked.
Professional trapping plus structural exclusion is the only reliable long-term solution.
What to Expect From Service

Long-Term Prevention Tips
- Trim branches away from roofs and siding
- Keep attic vents and soffits screened
- Repair loose siding or fascia promptly
- Store food sources and bird seed securely

-
Do you offer commercial or HOA pest control?Yes. We provide commercial pest control for offices, restaurants, schools, multifamily properties, warehouses, and HOA common areas across Boise, Nampa, Meridian, and the broader Treasure Valley. Each program is built around the property's specific pest pressures, occupancy patterns, and compliance needs, and commercial agreements are negotiated by individual property and proposal with terms tailored to the owner or management company.
-
Do you service rural properties, acreage, and homes near canals?Yes. The Treasure Valley has a mix of subdivision homes, acreage, agricultural property, and homes near canal corridors and irrigation ditches — each environment creates different rodent and insect pressures, and our technicians adjust inspection points and treatment plans accordingly. Properties near water sources typically experience heavier spider and web activity, and acreage often requires additional attention to outbuildings, entry points, and rodent harborage areas.
-
Do you require a contract, and how does cancellation work?Pestcom uses a service agreement rather than a fixed contract — a 12-month initial agreement that converts to month-to-month after the first year. The agreement is mutual: we commit to delivering the services quoted at the agreed price, and you commit to giving us the opportunity to address any service concerns before canceling. If a concern is raised and we're unable to resolve it, no cancellation fee applies. Customers moving outside our service area without a transfer option are also exempt from any cancellation fee. After the first year, service is month-to-month and can be canceled at any time with no fee. Cancellations are processed via written notice or a conversation with our billing team that we document in writing. Commercial agreements are negotiated individually by property and proposal, and specialty services like bed bug, termite, and one-time treatments operate on service agreements rather than annual contracts.
